Already a household name as a comics artist at the time of Pilote-Actualités, by the end of 1968, Christian Godard began to write for other artists, encouraged by René Goscinny (writer of Asterix) with whom he had been working for around 15 years.
Numerous comics scripts published in Pilote magazine ensued, illustrated by artists like Reiser, Fred, Delinx, Alexis, Loro, Morchoisne, Mulatier, Hubuc, Ribera, and many more. Including Dany, who still went by his full name Henrotin at the time, and Mittéï (Jean Mariette).
THE JUNGLE GONE WILD was born shortly thereafter, by the end of 1969, in Vaillant/Pif and the long-running VAGABOND OF LIMBO in 1975.
